Nationwide 24/7 free
counselling phone line run by volunteers with training in counselling (call 0800
543 354)
Pregnancy, Birth and Beyond
Infant Child Adolescent Mental Health Services (ICAMHS)
Free referral information, assessment and treatment for
children and adolescents with moderate to psychiatric disorders and severe
emotional or behavioural problems

Early Intervention Maternal Mental Health Service Waikato (early
detection, identification and intervention of emotional and psychosocial
difficulties in the perinatal period up to two years, including women who have
had birth trauma and/or lost a baby)

Services (kaupapa Maori organisation providing mental health services to
all in the community, including rehabilitation etc)
Perinatal Mental Health Service Waikato
Free assessment and treatment of mood disorders in pregnancy and
postpartum up to 12 months. Also for women experiencing distress related to
grief, loss and birth trauma, and pre-pregnancy counselling.
Postnatal Depression Support Group
(though Waikato Family Centre)
Weekly ongoing support from health professionals and
others with similar experiences
Women's Wellness (Hamilton-based)
Free mobile holistic support for up to 6 months during
trauma, anxiety, depression, or other mental illness
Live-in assistance and care for primary caregivers and
their babies due to sleep issues, colic, poor weight gain, feeding issues,
exhaustion, postnatal depression and anxiety
Support for mothers experiencing antenatal and
postnatal anxiety and depression, including specialised courses etc
